Yes, candidates need to have a valid NEET score for admission to BAMS course at SGT University. NEET is a mandatory entrance exam for students who wish to pursue a career in medicine in India. As per the regulations set by the Ministry of AYUSH, it is mandatory for students to have qualified in NEET, in order to be eligible for admission to BAMS courses. Therefore, it is not possible to pursue a BAMS course without appearing for NEET.

The colleges in Punjab that offer direct admission to BAMS are as follows:

  1. Dayanand Ayurvedic College, Jalandhar
  2. Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana

The duration for the course at BAMS is a 66 months course and total of 100 seats are available for the course. The eligibility criteria for the course is Class 12 with 50% aggregate. However, the selection criteria is NEET.
