IUST Awantipora BA admission is subject to the fulfilment of the preset eligibility and selection criteria. To be eligible for admission, applicants must have completed Class 12 with the required minimum aggregate. Hence, it can be said that the candidates who have appeared or are appearing for Class 12 exam in the current year can apply for BA admission. Candidates seeking BA admission at IUST must necessarily meet the course-specific eligibility criteria specified by the university. The eligibility criteria depend on the choice of specialisation. The course-wise eligibility requirements for BA admission at the university are as follows:
- Candidates seeking admission to a BA in Journalism & Mass Communication must have scored at least 50% in Class 12 from a recognised board
- For all other specialisations, candidates must have scored an aggregate of 45% or more in Class 12 from a recognised board
- A relaxation of 5% on the minimum required aggregate is provided to candidates from reserved cat

IUST Awantipora grants admission to applicants who fulfil the preset eligibility and selection criteria. Hence, getting direct admission to the BA programme of IUST may not be possible. Only the candidates who have completed Class 12 with the minimum required aggregate are eligible for admission. Further, candidates are required to appear for CUET UG to be considered for the selection process. Candidates who do not have a valid CUET UG score can also apply for admission against vacant seats (if any). However, preference is given to candidates with a valid CUET UG score.
