Here are some basic steps followed in the BA programme in India:

First, you should check the eligibility criteria to make sure you fulfill them. If you do, fill out the application form and attach the necessary documents. 

Students should prepare and sit for any entrance exams like CUET, IPU CET, etc. if required. Admission merit lists are prepared considering Class 12 marks when selecting students for admission. Colleges often give a certain weightage to both, class 12 marks and to entrance exam scores.

All colleges conduct a Document Verification process where the University will verify the documents of the selected candidates. It is followed by the fee payment procedures and students who are selected for admission must pay the admission fees.

Students can begin classes after these formalities have been performed.

BA courses can be pursued by all students who have completed their class 12th. Some skills which could be helpul for students who wish to pursue distance/correspondence BA degrees are:

• Communication Skills: Students who wish to pursue BA degrees must develop adequate communication skills to express their thoghts, ideas and arguments in a structured, comprehensible manner.
• Critical Thinking and Adaptability: Students of distance/correspondence BA degrees have to use logical, practical approach to information and develop adaptibility to keep up with the newest technologies to access digital tools and resources. 
• Time Management and Organization Skills: Pursuing a distance/correspondence BA degrees can be difficult for students who are unable to devise timetables for self study, or are unable to maintain focus outside classrooms.
• Reading Skills: Students pursuing BA degrees come across vast amounts of reading material. It is essential that they learn to read at a fast pace and separate the important from the less important topics.

The merit-based scholarships for BA at KR Mangalam University are based on candidates' Class 12 examination marks. The scholarship percentage is determined by the Class 12 percentage, with 25% for 80% to less than 85%, 35% for 85% to less than 90%, and 100% for 90% and above. The scholarship amount is deducted from the semester fee at the time of registration, and additional instalments may be paid by cheque if the student fulfills specific criteria.

Some basic eligibility criteria that students need to follow to get scholarship at KR Mangalam University are: 

• Two scholarships can't be combined.  
• Attendance in the immediately preceding semester is 75% or above.  
• The student has cleared the examination of all the subjects which were on offer in the immediately preceding semester.  
• There is no case of indiscipline, unfair means, or misconduct. Otherwise, university will not offer scholarships to those students. 

The BA (Hons) admission process at BN College is incomplete without document verification. At the time of admission, candidates must bring the hard copies (original and self-attested photocopies) of the following documents:
