Teachers in SRM use to teach in English language because it is a well reputed college and attract attracts a lot of diversified students from all State. So, for a common language, they use English as a medium for instructions and teaching.

Dear Akanksha,
As per my knowledge, the UGC norms do not allow a student to pursue two academic degrees in one single year. Even if one is regular and the other from distance. Moreover, it is advisable to focus on one course at a time.
