It worth and falls under your 12th stream. But if you go for Polytechnic, you may suffer.

Yes, maths is necessary to pursue B.Com in Delhi University. According to Delhi University the admission for this course is based on best 4 subject’s marks including maths. For further information regarding admission process and last year’s cutoff visit DU website.
