CSIR NET have set certain rules for the candidates who wants to appear in the CSIR Net exam. As per the guidelines those candidates who have completed their Master's degree or graduation of 4 years are eligible to appear in the exam in the subject in which they have completed their degree or with the related subject. You have completed your BE or engineering you are eligible to appear in the CSIR NET Mathematical Science. There is other rule mentioned by the CSIR which says, candidates who have completed their 4 year graduation is only eligible to appear for the JRF (Junior Research Fellowship). After enrolling yourself in the Master's degree you also eligible for the Assistant Professor post. To appear in the exam you also need to fulfil the eligibility criteria which is as follows:
Candidate must have a Master's degree or in the qualifying year with minimum 55% (For General/OBC) or 50% (For SC/ST/PwD) of marks without rounding off. For CSIR NET Junior Research Fellowship, they also have to fulfill the age criteria I. e. as follow -
For General - 30 Years Maximum Age

UGC net is country one of the toughest examinations. Even after the best preparations, many candidates may not appear in the examination due to the eligibility factors. It may be anything as age limit, qualification, etc. Candidates appearing for UGC NET Exam must satisfy the following conditions related to age limit and educational qualification before the application. Age Criteria (for junior research fellowship)
Candidate's maximum age limit is 30 year however reserved categories are given 5 years' exemption according to UGC NET. JRFHolders of LLM degree is exempted from the upper limit for 3 years. Age Criteria (for Assistant Professor)
There is no age limit for assistant professor. Academic Qualification
Applicant should have a Masters degree with at least 55% marks. Applicants from reserved category should have 50 percent number as they are given 5% relaxation in PG marks. Candidates appearing for post-graduation final year exams can also apply. A relaxation of upto 5 years to the candidates who have served in the armed forces subject to the length of service in the armed forces upto the first day of the month of UGC NET session.
