Admission to the best BEd colleges NIRF 2025 requires a bachelor's degree (Arts, Science, Commerce) with at least 50–55% marks. Most top government BEd colleges India 2025 and private universities also require qualifying entrance exams like UP BEd JEE, PTET, IGNOU BEd Entrance, RIE CEE, or state CETs. Accreditation by NCTE and UGC is essential for eligibility in government teaching posts.

Since the 1-year BEd course in India isn't officially implemented yet, we can't say that this degree will be valid for government jobs also. As of now, the 2-year BEd program is accepted for the government teaching position. In some cases, the distance BEd degree from IGNOU is also accepted.

The candidate can also opt for ITEP or Integrated Teaching programs to be eligible for the government teaching jobs.

No official update has been released by NCTE. But a post-graduation degree and prior experience might be needed.

Indeed, you are most likely to be eligible to do B.Ed course in St. Thomas College of Education (which most probably is the same St. Thomas College you are talking about, there are two other St. Thomas Colleges in Delhi/NCR). The B.Ed qualification normally needs a Bachelors degree (your B.Sc. Nursing) with a minimum of 50 percent aggregate marks. Although teaching methodology might require a certain subject in some of the institutions, a B.Sc. Nursing degree would suffice in getting admission into B.Ed, so you can start pursuing your career in that field after graduation.
