It is a medium level course. If you have nice base in biology and chemistry it will be easy for you to do food technology. If you complete PG you can work in government sectors as food inspector and also can do as lectures in reputed colleges. It is a nice course.
All the best.

In India, I think there are only 3 ways to get Dr. prefix before your name. You have to present a thesis/theory/research paper on any of discipline Science/art/history etc. To get a Ph.D. degree from a university after post graduation. Universities facilitate personnel recognizing their contribution in many field such as literature, Science, sports, music, cinema, social service etc. Be a doctor, professional medical practitioner with medical degrees such as MBBS B.A. M. S. BHMS MD etc. Regards.

UPSC does't need specialisation in a particular subject that you need to graduate in a particular subject. A dedicated 18 months preparation is more then enough. Even engineers taking humanities as optional are equally good as an option for the UPSC exams. So your choice of graduation should be dependent on two parameters
- your area of interest
- a safe career option or a backup if you fail to crack UPSC. You should take a decision keeping the above points in mind. Regards.

You have to give PU-CET or DAV. Also, give forms for merit list in June or July. Stay tuned with DAV Colleges website or with me, I will tell you.
Last year, admission was centralized. So, I think, this year will be also and the cut-off for B.Sc is between 70 and 80 but it changes every year.
Best of luck.
