There is no significant co-relation between a Bachelor's degree and an MBA. On the contrary, it is important to understand as to why you want to take up an MBA. While I was doing my MBA, my class had a mixed bunch of folks. There were students who had a Bachelors in Pharma. Most of them wanted to get into management roles in Pharma companies like Cipla, Ranbaxy etc. There are 2 reasons as to why you could be doing an MBA. Either you are passionate about management programme and you want to pursue it for your educational interest or you are looking for better career prospects. An MBA degree will definitely move you out of technical work to business side of the work, and if you enjoy it, you will definitely like the work. Some concepts that you learn in BBA will be applicable in MBA as well. You will be a pure management graduate. While a B.Sc. + MBA will help you in cross specialisation. It is advisable to take a decision based on what youd like to see yourself doing at the end of the MBA programme rather than figuring out which Bachelor's degree will assist you in an MBA. Depends on your choice of branches. If you are looking for Pure Sciences, then no, none of the IISERs mandatorily require a Maths background for BS-MS admissions. However, if you are applying for the Engineering Science (EECS and Chem. Engineering) and the Economics programme at IISER Bhopal, then you are required to have a math background in class 11th and class 12th. Also, as a previous answer pointed out, the Aptitude Test has 25% questions from Mathematics. So, if you are a non-math student, you would be well-advised to maybe spend the last couple of months going over a few basics from class 11th and class 12th NCERT textbooks, so as to be able to score a few marks at least in the Math section. Also, if you don't have mathematics in high school, it is advised that you learn the basics, because you'll have to learn the same content much more in-depth in your first year at IISER, and that may prove to be extremely challenging.
