Most institutes offering the course admit students based on their performance in a relevant entrance test, followed by a round of Personal Interview. Some institutes conduct their own entrance tests for offering admission. Admission process generally varies across colleges.
A few institutes also provide direct admission based on the candidates score at the 10+2 level.

Candidates wishing to apply for the course need to fulfill the following minimum eligibility criteria:
10+2 level of education completed from a recognized educational Board.
English as one of the main subjects at the 10+2 level.
A minimum aggregate score of 50% at the Senior Secondary (10+2) level.

The primary eligibility is to have passes 10+2 PCM with at least 50% marks. The admission is generally based on the board exam scores but some institutes conduct entrance tests based on which they admit students.

The basic criterion of eligibility needed to be met for admission to the course is a Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent qualification from a recognized educational Board, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects and a minimum aggregate score of 50%.
B.Sc. in Genetics: Admission Process
Admission to the course is based on the candidates performance at the 10+2 level. A few institutes however, shortlist students based on their performance in an additional entrance test conducted at their own level.
