As far as CSE is concerned, Placements and internships are very good. The highest Stipend was offered by GS I. e INR. 75k and the highest package was by Arcesium I. e INR. 34 lacs per annum. A large number of student receive PPO from companies like GS, JP Morgan, Amazon, SanDisk etc. Top packages are INR. 34 lac, INR. 27 lacs and lacs 22 lac by Arcesium, Amazon and GS respectively. Others offer between 10 to INR. 20 lac. Some are below INR. 10 lac too. There are many companies in super dream tier coming to PEC like Microsoft INR. 39 LPA, Amazon INR. 27 LPA, Salesforce 30 LPA, GS 22 LPA, D-Shaw 34 LPA and others with packages from INR.

Thapar is a great institute, along with being a reputed institute it is also a private body. This helps a lot as the placement cells are really active in those colleges. Being from CSE branch is icing on the cake. If you work hard enough and are capable, most of the big companies visit the campus so you can get a handsome package for you. The average package may be as low as 5-6 or even 7 lacs but you can grab great offers of more than 10 even 15 lacs per annum.

Hello,
If you are from Punjab, then you will get reservation in Thapar University, and it is one the best university across India. For admission in Thapar University for CS branch, you need to give JEE Mains marks and in that if you get rank under 70k, then you can get CS very easily.

You can expect a minimum pack of 2.5 LPA to 12 LPA of maximum other than that if you apply for the off campus placements then you might get some good pack above then this depending on the skills you have in that field.

If we will talk about Programming Languages, then following are the languages which are taught in B.Tech CS:
C Language, 1st Year. C+ Lang (OOPs), Database Management Structure 2nd Year
Advance Java 3rd Year
Scripting Languages:
A subject named Web Technologies. Consisting HTML, CSS, JavaScript etc.

Hello Vikrant, I can understand your angst. It’s actually a well-known fact that admission in IIT is one of the toughest propositions. It is said that getting admission in a US college is much easier.

CA on the other hand appears simple but is not. It too requires dedicated studies and concentration. Having said this, I would sincerely advise you to introspect and first decide as to which of these two fascinates you more. Please select this subject as your future.
