Although Polytechnic Diploma programmes are full-fledged technical degree courses run and approved by AICTE / All India Council for Technical Education, these courses are specifically defined at helping students learn the practical aspects and basics of the respective study stream or the subject. Therefore, if you want to expand the horizons of your knowledge, it is important to pursue further studies after the completion of Polytechnic Diploma course.

B.Tech in Surface Coating Technology is a relatively new course in the field of engineering, and hence only 2 institutes offer this programme in India as under.
1. ICT Mumbai
2. LIT Nagpur
Admission to the course in India is based on criteria that vary from institute to institute and/or State to State. Most colleges require candidates to qualify an entrance examination. Candidates currently appearing in or having completed 10+2 or equivalent qualification are eligible to appear for these entrance examinations. The course fee is LIT Nagpur is about Rs 28000/. While for ICT Mumbai, the first year fee is about Rs 85350/.
