If you're interested in pursuing BTech Mining Engineering you will have to fulfill some basic requirements that include completing Class 12 in the Science stream with PCM subjects and having at least 50 to 60% marks in Class 12 board exams. Also, you must check out the entrance exams accepted by your preferred colleges and clear the same for admission.

The good news is various colleges also give Mining Engineering admission on a merit basis and may take extra rounds like the GD/PI. So, it is important to take a look at their official websites and be clear with the admission process and other BTech Mining Engineering requirements.

The BTech Mining Engineering syllabus is not similar for all colleges and universities in India. Every college follows a certain set of syllabus guidelines that they follow and set the syllabus keeping in mind a particular framework. But, the general topics covered in Mining Engineering classes are usually the same.
Talking about the elective subjects, yes of course. You will have a pool of electives to choose from during the entire course duration. You can pick the elective subject as per your interest and then even go on to pursue a specialisation in the same in the future which will help you fetch a job easily.

It is not compulsory for you to give an entrance exam for admission to BTech Mining Engineering course. Several reputed colleges and universities in India also admit students on the basis of the marks secured by them in Class 12 board exams. They usually take further assessment rounds like PI and GD in such cases.

You can work hard for your board examination, score excellent marks, and apply to Mining Engineering colleges that offer merit-based admissions. You must check out for such colleges well in advance and then prepare accordingly.
