That's a good question actually, Manit. The thing is in India, every year lots of engineering students graduate from different colleges having learnt almost the same thing. So, the competition is very high. That means you have to have some unique skill in you to stand out. In the current situation, we cant actually predict anything as it is a bad time for all people. But engineering is not something that would become obsolete in the near future. To my knowledge, data analytics is one branch that is gaining a lot of attention and scope in today's world. So, if you are interested, you can go into that field after engineering or directly. Try to find courses in data analytics for Bachelors. Or you can go for engineering in your desired field. Don't worry about the current situation. That is not a measuring criteria. Always go for what interests you. Good luck.

Yes, core companies of IT like Microsoft, Google, etc. Mostly go online for recruitment. The process of recruitment varies from company to company,. For most of the companies, they are tied up with many universities and they conduct hackathons, students are shortlisted through these hackathons. There is level by level series of hackathons and competitions. After that students are also given different live projects. Final recruitment is done on the basis of all the event and interview after. But with all this I would advise choose a university that provide you complete assistance and even trains you for such hackathons.
