B.Tech Scope

Biotechnology career is not only a white coat laboratory drug developing job. There are so many other opportunities out there. Opportunities range from sales, marketing, research and development, production and distribution, manufacturing, quality control etc. The salary for biotechnologists in India largely depends on knowledge, skills, and experience. At present, there are 12 leading companies with the highest employment rate and salary grade in India. The average annual salary by the leading biotech companies ranges from Rs.2, 29,238 to Rs.8, 28,746 per year. The numbers are projected to double in the future as the demand for biotech graduates increases. As per the latest statistics by government of India, Biotech sector is currently growing at 20% growth rate and is expected to touch USD 100 billion by 2025. After B.Tech, if you are interested in Higher Studies or research in the same stream, then you may go for M.Tech. Else, MBA would be a good option. You should have 55% marks in B.Tech/BE and a valid score of GATE. If you are not interested in learning technology anymore, only then you should pursue MBA. You should have cleared anyone entrance test (such as CAT/MAT/XAT/NMAT/CMAT/GMAT/NEST) and should also have a min of 45% to 55% in your Bachelors.
