During the IIT BHU JEE Advanced cutoff 2026, the Round 1 closing ranks for BTech core branches, including Civil, Chemical, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, ranged between 936 and 2245 for the SC category students under the AI quota.  Considering the first round cutoff, candidates must target a cutoff rank of up to 2245 and below to get BTech core branches at IIT Varanasi.

IIT BHU cutoff 2026 was released for the first round for admission to the BTech courses based on the students performance in the JEE Advanced exam. 

For the General AI category, the round 1 cutoff ranged from 1436 to 13991 for various BTech courses. Among all courses, B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering was the most competitive, with the cutoff being 1436. See the table below to know the round 1 cutoff for other courses for the General AI quota.

For the OBC categor candidates, the JEE Advanced 2026 cutoff for IIT Guwahati ranged from 383 to 3493 under the AI quota. So, to get a seat in the first round, candidates must target a maximum cutoff rank of up to 3493 for BTech admission. IIT Guwahati JEE Advanced cutoff 2026 was released for admission to the BTech courses for the first round. The round 1 cutoff ranged from 810 to 10525 for the General AI category. Students can see the table below to know the courses for all courses.

For taking the admission in  B.Tech.  Mechanical Engineering, a candidate should pursue the Science stream, specifically with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as core subject. After that check in which college you want to take admission like IITs, NITs and many private and government colleges. There are some entrance examination for different colleges. After qualifying the entrance exam, you can get admission.

For students belonging to the General AI quota, most of the BTech branches remained open till the last round for admission at IIT Roorkee. The cutoffs of different branches vary across rounds and categories. Some of the BTech branches, such as CSE, ECE, Civil, and Mechanical, etc., reflected a rise in the last round, closing ranks as compared to initial rounds, indicating IIT Roorkee seats remained vacant till the last round for BTech admission. Whether the branch will remain open till the last round or not depends on the availability of seats allocated for each category. In the meantime, candidates can check out the round-wise cutoff
