Please don’t prefer biotechnology in B.Tech stream, it would be very difficult for you find jobs in that stream, Indian company HR's love to recruit only BSc student with less pay scale and won’t give preference to us. Better if you would change your mind set early to switch to other stream.

After 12th you can go directly for B.Tech in AME and you can also do it after your Diploma.

It varies College to college. Some colleges have very good Placement while others may have almost zero placement. Top Colleges which has a good Placement is IIT Bombay, IIT Chennai, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee, BITs, IIITH, IIT Kharagpur ,IIT Delhi, etc.

Your rank is far beyond to get admission in any good private colleges, however you may get calls from various colleges to get admission there but trust me they are worthless, so figure out what went wrong and prepare well for next year.
