Here's a very basic list that consists of some of the most important documents that you must have with you during the BTech admission process - 

1)      Class 12 mark sheet with at least 50 to 60% marks in the PCM/PCB/PCMB subjects

2)      Class 10 mark sheet

3)      Entrance exam scorecard and admit card

4)      Valid Aadhaar Card/Passport/PAN Card for Identity Verification

5)      Migration and Character Certificates (may be required)

6)      Recent passport size photos

7)      Fitness Certificate (may be required for a few specializations like Marine Engineering)

This list presents a basic overview of the documents needed during the BTech admission process, which is subject to vary on the basis of the college you've applied to and the BTech specialisation you've chosen. You can go to the official college websites to get some clarity on the same.

It is not compulsory for you to give an entrance exam for getting admission to BTech degree courses in any of the specializations. You will find a lot of popular BTech colleges in India that will give you admission on the basis of your performance in the Class 12 board exams given you have scored really good marks and are able to qualify for the merit cutoff released by the college.

The minimum eligibility for admission to BTech courses is normally around 50 to 60% marks in PCM/PCB/PCMB subjects, depending on the specialisation you're interested in. Rest, you should be able to match the merit cutoff. A few colleges may also call you for an interview round after releasing the cutoffs to assess your knowledge and skill set for the BTech course.
