NEET UG is very important for MBBS admissions in India. It is only entrance exam for all medical colleges, both government and private, and makes admissions fair and transparent.

NEET tests your knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology to make sure you are ready for medical studies.

You also need to pass NEET if you want to study MBBS abroad, according to Medical Council of India (MCI) rules.

As you have a 2-year Diploma in ophthalmic assistance, you can take lateral entry in courses like a bachelor's degree in optometry or any course related to this field. You need to keep in mind that all institutions don't have this facility of lateral entry, so you need to look for the institutes offering lateral entry courses first. After that, you can fill out the application form from the official website of the institution you are going to and give the information regarding your diploma. Taking lateral entry will allow you to enter the second year of the programme you are choosing.

Integrated UG courses refers to the courses that combine a UG as well as a PG degree in one course only. It is generally 5-6 years in India and aims to save time and cost for the students. Some popular and well-regarded integrated courses include BBA+MBA, BA+LLB, B.Tech+M.Tech, and B.Sc+M.Sc. You can go for any one of them based upon your interest and preference.
