Q. When does the admission process begin for the current academic year?
A. Selection is based on the rank obtained in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) conducted on an all-India basis by the National Board Examination. Post conducting of NEET and the subsequent declaration of cut-off marks, the students may apply online. All the seats, including NRI/Management quota, are allotted merit-based through a process of online counselling conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority. Generally, the application for admission starts in April.
Q. What is the eligibility criteria for International Students applying for the MBBS degree?
A. For Foreign Nationals, Non-Resident Indians and People of Indian Origin to apply to the MBBS degree at the MS Ramaiah Medical College, they must fulfil the following criteria:
- The candidates must have completed 17 years of age as of the31st December of the year of admission
- Candidate must have passed 12th standard (or equivalent) and must have obtained 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (aggregate). Passing in English as one of the subjects is mandatory.
- Every year, at least 15% of the total admissions each year (23 seats) are reserved for the international students. They must have documents to verify their NRI/FOREIGN
- Inward remittance certificate from the Reserve Bank of India is compulsory.

A. MS Ramaiah Medical College offers Bachelors (BPT – 4.5 years), Masters (BPT – 4.5 years) and PhD in physiotherapy. Minimum 50% in their 12th board exams with Physics, Maths, Biology and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.

Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one cannot afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing year on year, it is advisable to try to score better ranks to increase your chances of getting admission in M S Ramaiah Medical College.

For the private quota MBBS seats at M.S. Ramaiah Medical College (Bangalore), Kerala students in 2024 needed an All India NEET rank around 12,600 (General category cut-off ~12,588). If your rank was better than that, you had a strong shot at admission.
