In India only few universities offer undergraduate courses in Astronomy. Most students start with a BSc in Physics and specialize in Astronomy at the postgraduate level. Some institutes offer integrated programs for Astronomy. Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram – BTech in Space Science and Technology
Osmania University, Hyderabad – BSc in Astronomy
St. Xavier's College, Mumbai – BSc in Astrophysics
Pursue BSc Physics or Mathematics, then specialize in Astronomy through MSc or research programs at institutions like IISc, IUCAA, or IIA for stronger foundation.
