For B.Tech (UG): You need to have passed 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, and Math, with at least of 45–50% aggregate. Admission is based on WBJEE or JEE Main score through counseling.
Lateral entry into 2nd year requires Diploma in engineering with at least of 60% (no entrance exam needed).

Government College of Engineering, Thanjavur offers the UG course such as B.E./B.Tech admissions which is based on Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) using Class 12th marks in PCM subjects.
