BAMS is a better option. There is a good scope in BAMS. As for the jobs, alternative medicine practitioners have lots of scope in medical field such as counseling, mental or physical therapy, healthcare department, naturopathic doctor, etc. Professional in this field gets training and motivation to develop their knowledge.
For some career in this field may need additional knowledge, certification and education. A graduate in alternative medicine can seek career option in following areas such as researcher, practitioners in ayurvedic and homeopathic, hospitals, dispensaries and in government sectors.
For private practitioners in above fields get the initial salary range of Rs.8,000. A graduate student working with a trained practitioner or in clinic could help them to gain the confidence and revenue. In research institutions and in drug and pharmaceutical companies employ research scientists and consultants in order to work in this field.
Post-graduates students can also opt for teaching jobs in universities and colleges.
One may find employment as:
1. Masseuse.
2. Wellness counselor.
3. Acupuncturist.
4. Chiropractor.
5. Naturopathologist.

BHMS has a better scope. After the completion of BHMS, you can apply for :
M.D. is Masters Degree Level.
Ph.D is Doctoral Degree Level.
It will be the best to finish both.
However, you should watch ICMR Website for announcement of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)- Rs. 16000/- per month, & Senior Research Fellowship (SRF)- Rs. 24,000/- per month approx, for your PG and PhD. studies respectively. Also, you must not forget to tick yes in the box for "Lectureship also".
You need this lectureship to apply for Assistant Professors & Associate Professors in Govt. Medical colleges.
Your pay packet at end of the first month itself will be about Rs. 48000/- to 50000/-
This will be the minimum requirement for applying to ICMR Scientist position also with similar payscales.
