As a student from GIBS Bangalore, I personally found programs like IRE (Innovation, Research & Entrepreneurship) and CPMP (Certificate Program in Management Practices) very useful because they gave us exposure beyond regular classroom learning.

I used to actively participate in IRE activities, and it helped me think more practically. Instead of just studying concepts from books, we got opportunities to work on ideas, presentations, projects, discussions, and activities that helped us understand how businesses actually function.

Because, for me:

• CPMP helped us learn skills that are useful in corporate environments

• Regular interactions with industry experts and professionals

• Exposure to real business challenges through projects and presentations

• Better understanding of what companies expect from management graduates

For me, IRE and CPMP were some of the best parts of the GIBS experience because they helped bridge the gap between academics and the real business world. By the time I completed the program, I felt much more confident and industry-ready than when I started.

Following are the reasons to choose Christ University Bangalore Karnataka:

• Popular Programmes: Christ University Bangalore is famous for its flagship programmes like MBA,  BTech (Kengeri Campus), & Law courses. Christ, recently inaugurated the THEMIS which is 6th Moot Court competition. This competition encouraged students to develop advocacy skills & academic excellence.
• Christ University Bangalore MBA Fees: Christ students must pay non-refundable admission registration fee of INR 8,000. The total tuition fee for the MBA is INR 11.6 lakh.
• Ranking: Christ University Bangalore India is ranked 57 by NIRF 2025 under the Management category. The rank in 2025 under the Management category has improved from the past year (60th position). Recently, Christ University also got ranked 59 by the WURI 2026 Rankings for AI-Based Teaching & Learning Transformation.

If you're a Diploma student from outside Karnataka applying for lateral entry into B.E./B.Tech in Bangalore, the following colleges could be considered:

1. R. V College of Engineering – Offers good placements; however, limited and tough lateral entry admissions.

2. BMS College of Engineering – Academic standards are high with decent placements too.

3. M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology – Renowned for its Computer Science and Information Technology streams.

4. Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering – Has good infrastructure with opportunities for placements.

5. RNS Institute of Technology – Value for money.

6. New Horizon College of Engineering – Placement opportunities are fair, particularly in IT-based branches.

In case of Computer Science or allied disciplines, my order of preference would be: MSRIT > BMSCE > RVCE > DSCE > RNSIT.

While Jain University is primarily known for its Management & Engineering courses. The university also offers BSc & MSc across the specialisations of:

• Biochemistry with Minor in Bioinformatics / Microbiology /
• Chemistry with Minor in Biotechnology / Physics / Renewable Energy
• Computational Biology with Minor in Data Science / Computer Science/ Chemistry
• Computer Science with Minor in Data Science / Mathematics / Renewable Energy

While the procedure of admission to these courses depends on JET scores as well as Personal Interview rounds. Further the BSc courses also require Extempore/ Pick & Speak.

Students can apply for the JET through the university page by going through the admission portal.

The Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISc) is ranked 1st and 2nd under the Universities & Overall categories, respectively of NIRF 2025. As such it is clearly a great institute with reviews mentioning pros such as:

• Infrastructure: The institute features advanced classrooms which resemble seminar halls and the campus is equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi (100 MB/PS). While Labs and also advanced whereas the  JRD Tata library is large and comprehensive. (Soumyadip Bank- M.Sc. in Chemical Sciences - Batch of 2026)

• Faculty: The faculty at IISc Bangalore are very approachable with the style of teaching being the Socratic style of discussion while the curriculum is equipped with rigour to build the readiness of students to pursue a career in Science.
