BCA as the course curriculum of BCA in most colleges of India includes the syllabus of Polytechnic along with other topics as well. If the question is about pursuing Polytechnic in a different domain altogether, then it is my advice to choose a stream in which a person wants to establish a career in and then proceed further. Pursuing 2 different courses in different domains rarely leads to something good and mostly results in the career path going astray. Therefore, I would advice to first determine which domain a person wants to establish a career in, compare the syllabus of the various courses in the domain and then take a decision accordingly. A student who wants to jump from Science to computer field is really beneficial. One can find better job opportunities in this field in respect of B.Sc. But after doing B.Sc. Joining into computer field is not a good decision. As both B.Sc. And BCA are of 3-year so there is a loss of three year. So joining MCA after B.Sc. Is quite a better decision in respect of joining. On the basis of eligibility for MCA is graduation in any field with at least 60% marks and maths as a subject up to class 12th. Then student go into MCA and it is really beneficial. But as MCA is for computer course so student must have knowledge of Computer programming Language, SAP, Big Data which is not in Science student so they can learn these thing by certificate course in one year.
