Note that German is the main language of teaching, research, and administration at the Technical University of Berlin. In the case of Bachelor's courses, the compulsory teaching elements are conducted mainly in German. Most Master's level courses are taught in German, but there are few courses that are taught in English. All international students should achieve a level of written and spoken German in order to communicate effectively within the context of their studies. English is the second language of teaching at this university.

Berlin has a moderate crime index of approximately 44.66, meaning it is a relatively safe city to reside in. Neighborhoods like Mitte, Charlottenhurg, and Prenzlaur Berg are considered especially safe since they are usually either heavily policed or have a generally low crime rate.
A resident of Berlin is more likely to experience petty theft or vandalism rather than violent crimes. It is advised to avoid neighborhoods like Leopoldplatz, Görlitzer Park, or Alexanderplatz, especially at night, as these areas have a higher crime rate.

Absolutely. The semester fee charged by German universities comes with a bunch of advantages, one of which includes student transportation passes for unlimited use within certain zones (AB/ABC) and at times, outside. Students are advised to reach out to their university's student services or the AStA (Allgemeiner Studierendenausschuss) to gain more insights on the semester ticket included in their semester fees.
Other options to commute include public transport like S-Bahn, U-Bahn, trams, and buses.
