There is no quota, however students who got more than 85% in their 12th exams get 50,000 off in the second year. 60% is the admissions criterion. or above in the 12th grade boards You are given an appointment during which admission authorities will provide you with all of the necessary information.

However, the admission process for the M.Sc. Bioinformatics program involves an online entrance exam to be conducted in May/June 2019. The selection criteria of MSc programme at School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, D Y Patil (Deemed-to-be) is as follows:
- Admission to MSc (all specialisations) is based on scores obtained in the last qualifying examination
- Candidates must have graduation in the relevant discipline or as stated by the School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics
- Final admission to Integrated MSc (Biotechnology) is based on merit in the last qualifying examination.
