The placement here is quite appreciating. Many big companies like Ford, Tata, Reliance, etc. , visit the college for placements. The highest package was from the Ford company with Rs 4.5 LPA. It provides the students with good internships. The highest stipend for internships was Rs. 5000. The college has a dedicated placement cell. Although, 70% students are placed on-campus while others have to go for pool campus rounds which is a drawback and getting lucrative offers becomes next to impossible with such drives. Faculty members and alumni support is provided for soft skills and aptitude preparation, also mock interviews and group discussion are conducted for gaining hands-on experience.

B.Tech in biotechnology from GGSIPU's colleges drive the industries in many areas like Pharma, healthcare, instrumentation, clinical research; and the related services. The candidates opting for jobs get to chose from the widest array of profiles available in the industry. The students who are not interested in research opt for these profiles and become part of the business of biotechnology. After considering the placement report of 2016 for IIT, Guwahati in biotechnology engineering branch, out of the 40 students who enrolled for placements, 32 got placed. Some core companies this visit like Biocon, Narayan Cadillac, Sun Pharma, Ranbaxy, Brenntag Industries, etc. But gave away very few offers, Also these placements were mostly considering Business Intelligence, data analytics, banking finance, marketing and other such companies due to the lack of ample of core biotechnology companies visiting the campus and thus rolled out IT based roles. IIT, Guwahati has dedicated placement and training cell which is huge but they are mostly IT companies with big brand recognition. Students usually take up Masters in the same college to increase the chances of getting into core biotech company. Where Placements are phenomenal. The average package was 5 LPA and the highest was 11 LPA and minimum offered range was 4.5 LPA.
