You should pursue a course which you want to pursue and one which you feel comfortable doing/studying. Both have comparable scope. I have mentioned the scope of both along with this answer so that it is easier for you to decide.

Biotechnology is a combination of two subjects- Biology and Technology. Broadly speaking, it brings together concepts of Biology and Engineering and aims at putting concepts of both these subjects together, in a bid to enrich our lives and make innovative developments.

Hello Anu Sri,
The admission into IITs for any course is based on the JEE advanced exam only. So you need to clear JEE main and then JEE advanced with a good rank so that you can get a seat for biotechnology in IIT.
To get admission at Anna University, your board exam marks alone are considered and there is no entrance exam. Your cut off in PCB out of 200 is considered.
