Yes, you have heard it right. But I will suggest you to join Jaypee Institute of Information Technology for biotechnology. 50 percent of JIIT seats (only for biotechnology) are reserved for bio students.

The Government of India provides large-scale employment to most bio-technologists in its research laboratories. Those employed as researchers in government sector can have a starting salary of Rs. 9000 per month along with government perks/allowances.
Private sector pharmaceutical companies generally offer salary between Rs. 12,000- Rs. 20,000 per month to an entry-level postgraduate. A skilled and experienced bio-technologist can get salaries far beyond his expectations.

No university in India is good for biotechnology because our college standards are not up to mark. Better to try in VIT University which is some what better than Karunya University.

Dear Ankit,
I would need more information in order to guide you on universities. However, you may look at Centennial and Conestoga College for fast track Diploma/Advanced Diploma on biotech.
