Try till the spot round. There are chances you might get it in your home state NIT. It is quite difficult but don't take a chance. Go for it at least in your counselling.

Earlier it was called as Allahabad Agricultural Institute. As its name suggest it was one of the best colleges in agriculture courses in India. After that, they named it on its founder. Anyway, coming to the question, as some people have pointed out this college is best known for its agricultural courses all over world (and of course India!). Engineering in Agricultural from this institution means you have done a some conventional course from IITs. Recently, I visited an entrepreneur from Kerala in Mumbai. There is no difference in the syllabus, but a good college will give more facility in terms of the placement, internship, etc.
