Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Patna is one of the most prestigious engineering colleges in Patna, though not among the top institutions in India. BIT Patna managed to find its position on the 99th slot out of 173 IIRF ranked engineering colleges in India during 2024, from the rank of 128 during the year 2023. The average placement package from the institute ranges about 10.58 LPA, with around 75-80% placements. Therefore, although not being one of the finest overall, it is known to be among the excellent local institutes in engineering fields.

The competition for an MBA degree at Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Patna is high; a valid score in the entrance exams, such as CAT, MAT, XAT, or CMAT, should be obtained. A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate, at a bachelor's level, and personal interviews and consideration based on prior work experience should be considered during the selection process. The total fee is around INR 5.18 lakhs; the programme lasts for two years. The institute provides good placements, but the students would have to prepare hard and get admitted and perform at their best.

Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Patna is slightly costlier compared to other engineering colleges in India. The B.Tech fee for the whole programme amounts to about INR 2.95 Lacs in the first year and thereafter is around INR 1.46 Lacs to INR 1.60 Lacs per annum. The M.Tech programme is charged at about INR 2.31 Lacs per annum. Such overhead hostel and mess facilities increase additional costs, so it will be very important for aspirants to consider their economical status before applying to the BIT Patna.

Around 30% of students got an internship from companies that visited our campus. Birla Institute of Technology is a good college. Placements: Almost 70% of the students in our college are placed in private companies. Private companies like Vodafone, Reliance Jio, Byju's and Admos, etc., visit the campus for placements. It has beautiful campus with full of various interesting activities and sports activities.

The median salary for B.Tech students at Birla Institute of Technology Patna is as low as INR 5. 7 LPA only. The leading recruiters are TCS, Wipro, Infosys, and HCL providing packages of INR 3. 5 to 9 LPA. The highest package of INR 9 LPA was up for grabbing through various companies including Microsoft and Amazon. Computer Science and Electronics students gets slightly a better average of around INR 6. 5 LPA while mechanical and civil engineering students get an average of around INR 4. 5 LPA. There can be differences in placement statistics year by year.

The admission procedure to Birla Institute of Technology, Patna is fairly tough but there is stiff competition as well. For admission, the institute considers the marks of national level entrance examination such as JEE Main for B.Tech and B.Arch, GATE for M.Tech and again CAT for MBA. For undergraduate programs minimum 50 % in class 12th with PCM is compulsory. For postgraduate programs a certified bachelor’s degree in the related field with 55% and above is necessary. There are less chances for you to get admission to JEE Mains with rank 295450, even if you are from the EWS category.
The last round cut-off rank for the EWS category was 2400 in 2023. That means it was around the 99 percentile.
You need to score higher to get admission to the college.

The Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Patna campus has above average placements for its Computer Science Engineering (CSE) department. No, a score of 98 will get it into a rank of 55,000 to 75,000 which is not enough to get into BIT Patna if you are a General candidate. You need approximately 35000 rank which is around 120+ marks to get into B.E. CSE at Birla Institute of Technology. You can take admission in mechanical or civil engineering of this college.
