BMS College of Engineering eligibility criteria varies according to different programmes offered by the institute at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Candidates who have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with English as one of the languages and have obtained at least 45% aggregate (40% aggregate for SC, ST and Category-I candidates) in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/ Bio-Technology/ Biology/ Electronics or Computer Science as optional subjects can apply for admission to the BE programme offered at BMS College of Engineering.

Candidates must follow certain procedure to take admission in any of the undergraduate or postgraduate programme offered at BMS College of Engineering. The procedure begins with filling out the BMSCE application form followed by an appearance in the entrance exam and counselling process. BMS College of Engineering course admissions are only made through the entrance examination scores and rank obtained by candidates. BMSCE accepts the rank and scores of various entrance examinations depending upon the programme opted by the candidates. KCET and COMEDK scores are required for BMS College BE admission while GATE and Karnataka PGCET scores are required for MTech admission. BMS College of Engineering MBA admission is made through CMAT/ MAT/ KMAT or Karnataka PGCET scores and the institute accepts the scores of Karnataka PGCET or KMAT to offer admission in the MCA programme.
