Missing a tuition payment deadline at Brown Uni can result in late payment fees, account holds, and course cancellation. Each of these are mentioned below:
- Late payment charges: Late payment charge of 1.5% per month (annual rate of 18%) on any unpaid balance
- Hold on student account: This prevents students from registering for classes, making schedule changes, or receive transcripts/diploma
- Course dropping: Done in cases where students fail to pay their tuition after repeated warnings or failure to set up a Brown Installment Payment Plan (IPP)

Yes, Indian students can pay their Brown Uni fees in installments. Students can enroll in Brown's Installment Payment Plan (IPP) to pay one semester's fees in monthly installments (without any interest).
The fee will be deducted in 4 to 5 installments, once every month. To enroll for the plan, students will have to pay a non-refundable fee of USD 75 (INR 6.9 K) per semester.

Application fee is about USD 80 so you will need to pay around INR 7.2K to apply to Brown University. This will be non refundable application fee.
This can be paid with credit card or by sending a check to the Office of College Admission. A request to waive the fee can also be made
