Yes, you can specialize in Cloud Computing after BTech CS or even during it, for that matter. You have some simple options to do the same -
- Choose your electives accordingly. Indulge in relevant projects and internships to grab jobs in the said domain.
- People often get into some additional certificate programs to gain expertise in a particular tech field during their official degree.
- You can choose the Cloud Computing specialisation during your M.Tech degree too.
- Cloud Computing is more of a sub-branch of IT & Software rather than an engineering branch itself. But pursuing it as a field of expertise is definitely possible.

Students who build strong project portfolios and perform well in interviews have better chances of securing competitive packages.

Of course, you can. It is actually a smart way to get both technical and management knowledge and skills in your field. Both BTech and MBA are powerful degrees, recognised internationally.
I would just suggest that you choose the specialisation smartly. For example, an MBA in IT, Operations, or Business Analytics will go a long way.
All the best.

According to the placement record, the highest package that was offered to BTech student in NIT Durgapur in 2025 was INR 80 LPA. So it can be said that it is highly unlikely to get a package of INR 1 crore in campus placement of NIT Durgapur. Though difficult, it is not impossible and a stellar academic performance and overall records can make it possible and break previous record.
