Yes, there are additional charges apart from the tuition fee for the BTech ECE course at well-known colleges in India. The colleges usually ask you to pay separately for hostel accommodation if you're staying in the college hostel, application form submission, semester exam registration, and lab work.
The tuition fee for the course is around INR 6 lakh to INR 10 lakh. Rest, you must check the official college websites for accurate fee structure for the course.

It depends on candidates. You should start as early as possible so that you have enough time to go through all the sections of the exam syllabus and revise thoroughly. You should start your preparation at least 6 to 8 months before the final exam is scheduled to get excellent marks and rank in the entrance test.

The admission process for BTech in ECE may easily take up to a few months, till the time you get the final seat. This is because every college follows individual guidelines for giving admission to students. There are a lot steps involved in the admission procedure like appearing for the entrance exam, filing out the college application form, exam result announcement, college counseling, seat allotment, course fee payment, and final seat confirmation from your end.

For BTech ECE admission, you need to get at least 50 to 60% marks in the PCM subjects in Class board exams. The eligibility criteria vary from one college to another. For example, the IITs require you to have at least 75% marks in Class 12 to be eligible for admission to BTech in Electronics and Communication Engg. course.
For reserved category students, the criteria is usually relaxed by 5% marks. You just need to have a valid category certificate with you, which is required at the time of filling out the application forms and the final admission day.
