IUST BTech in Mechanical Engineering curriculum is spread over a period of four years. It follows a semester pattern, with eight semester in total. As of now, the exact admission dates for BTech admission at IUST Awantipora. However, the application process is currently ongoing. Aspirants who are have appeared or are appearing for Class 12 in the current year can apply online for admission. A 'Declaration for Result Awaited Candidates' must be filled by candidates applying before their Class 12 results are declared.

IUST Awantipora BTech admission is entrance-based. It accepts the exam scores of JEE Main (Paper 1) for various BTech specialisations except BTech in Food Production. Admission to BTech in Food Production is based on the applicants' performance in CUET UG (Biology/ Biological Studies/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry, Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics subject). Further, the university conducts the University Entrance Test to shorlist candidates for BTech (Lateral Entry) courses.

As per the available information, getting direct admission to the BTech programme of IUST Awantipora may not be possible. The admisson is primarily entrance-based. The university accepts JEE Main/CUET UG scores to shortlist applicants for admission. Further, applicants are required to fulfil the preset eligibility crietria. Only the candidates who have completed Class 12 with the minimum required aggregate and relevant subjects are eligible for admission. The university may also provide merit-based admission in case of vacant seats (if any). However, preference is given to candidates with a valid entrance exam score.
