This differs from person to person. Some students would find it very easy because of their passion and inclination towards the field of instrumentation, control systems, and electronics, and their experience at the college where they pursue the course. Other students might find it challenging and difficult depending on their understanding and technical grasp of the course syllabus.

Having said that, the Instrumentation courses cover a range of areas for you to gain expertise in, become job-ready for the future, and look forward to a good earning potential with companies offering excellent salary packages.

You can definitely take lateral entry admission directly to the second year of BTech in Instrumentation Engineering at some popular colleges in India after completing a Diploma in Instrumentation Technology or Engineering, which spans 3 years. You should have decent marks of around 50 to 60% in your Diploma final exams and also clear the entrance test for admission that is usually required by a few universities.

Rest, you should always confirm the admission requirements for the course by reading the same on the official colleges' websites where you wish to pursue the course.
