The environment is decent and study-focused. Civil branch facilities are okay, and fees are within budget. Placements are average, so you'll need to focus on skills and internships.
Overall: Good affordable choice for Civil with direct admission

Chandigarh University is better for placements, exposure, and career growth. More companies come, and you get more chances in CSE. The environment is active and competitive, which helps you grow.
👉 CGC University has a calmer and more disciplined environment, but placements are not as strong as CU. It's okay if you want less pressure.
👉 The main difference is:
CU = more opportunities + better future scope
CGC = more comfort + less competition
