Candidates who meet the requirements for the MBA programme in Class 10, Class 12, CAT qualifying, and CAT final cutoff will be invited to participate in additional selection processes, including the Written Ability Test and Personal Interview. Next, a commutative score is determined by evaluating each candidate's performance in each of the previously listed categories. In a similar vein, candidates for other courses who satisfy the prerequisites must go through an institute-specific selection procedure in order to be shortlisted. Following the conclusion of the selection processes, the Final Composite Score is used to create a category-by-category merit list.

Entrance tests are accepted by CMR University School of Management for admission to its Bachelor of Business Administration programme. Depending on how well they perform on a number of national and state entrance tests, prospective students can apply. These include the Undergraduate Entrance Test administered by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka and the Common Entrance Test (CET) administered by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). Furthermore, applicants may be given consideration for admission if they have completed other national level examinations such as the All India Management Association Under Graduate Aptitude Test.
