IELTS is your test for English language requirement, you have to see if you meet the academic requirements also most importantly. 6 is not a recommended score for PG studies, you should have atleast 6.5 with no section less than 6. Your education background and percentile is required for better guidance.

Here are some of the best universities for engineering in Canada:
University of British Columbia
University of Toronto
McGill University of Alberta
University of Calgary
Queen's University
McMaster University to name a few. Work experience is not necessary but most of these universities will require around 3.2/4 CGPA. Please check the admission criteria on their websites.

Different programs have different prerequisites in foreign universities. You need to check with the college /University where you wish to study and know about all the admission requirements and specific requirements if any. Check if you qualify and apply for the same.
