Are there any seat reservations at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University?

Yes, like all other universities, DSPMU has also the seat reservation system. In every course, out of the total seats, 40% of the seats are reserved for Open Merit where students from different states including Jharkhand, they can take admission on the basis of the mark irrespective of the Caste system. Rest 60% of the seats are exclusively filled up by the students belongs to the reserved category like ST (26%), SC (10%), Extremely Backward Classes (8%), Backward Classes (6%), Economically Weaker Section (10%). .

Definitely, there is no doubt that Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University is one of the best University of Jharkhand. The university provides various traditional, vocational and self financing courses for both UG & PG courses. Some of the courses also include Ph.D. And M.Phil. Also. If you look at the course fee then you will realize that it is very minimal and affordable by every individual. The tall academic buildings with the greenary of that area making the campus very beautiful and increasing the beauty of university. Are admissions in Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University open?

If you are taking admission in Master courses, then the admission generally open in the month of August-September. From this year you have to appear for CUET to take admission in UG courses and the admission for PG courses is purely based on merit & depends on your graduation mark. The admission process happens online in the Jharkhand official Chancellor portal. In M.Sc. Courses there is 40% of the seat are reserved for open merit where students from different states can take admission in this university and the rest of the seats are reserved for the backward students of Jharkhand states.

What happens if a student fails internal exams in Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University?

Internal exams here at DSPMU is so easy and generally students donot get failed in these examination. But in the worst case scenario, you failed the internal examination then you will get another chance in the coming year where you have to write the exams with your juniors when the particular paper comes.

How is CGPA calculated in Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University?

The CGPA is calculated according to the rules given by University. The Cumulative Grade Point Avergae is calculated on the 10 point grading scale in which 10 denotes as Outstanding and so on. For each semester SGPA is calculated and for full course it is CGPA. Percentage is calculated by multiplying the CGPA in 10.

In case you miss the internal examination, then there is no absolute reason to worry. Just go and talk with the Head of Department and they will help you to reappear for the examination in your suitable time. You will appear for the examination later and you result will be published with the all other students.

How are hostel facilities at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University?

Truth to be told, The hostel facilities here at DSPMU is not upto the mark. There are only 2-3 hostel for boys only and you will find no hostel for girls students. Hostels are very old and some of the buildings are in dilapidated conditions. Getting admission in the hostel is so difficult for the new students because the vacancy are not often found.

No doubt the uniqueness lies in every aspects in DR. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University, Ranchi. You will find it everywhere that it is the best university in Ranchi for both UG & PG. The course fee for every department is very minimal with very well experienced teachers. All the teachers here holds a Ph.D. Degree. The teachers are very supportive and helps you personally to crack every entrance exam which you will find nowhere I think. It provides all the possible courses including traditional, vocational and self financing. The Campus holds the very best of uniqueness with attractive and tall buildings that makes the campus beautiful
