CAT is not compulsory for admission to MBA. Welingkar Mumbai also considers scores in MAT, CMAT, ATMA, etc. Aspirants with scores in any of the accepted entrance tests can get admission.

The CAT cutoff involves qualifying cutoffs (lower, typically 75-85 percentile for interview and final cutoffs in which are higher .The Top IIMs will demand 98-100 percentile, while newer IIMs are 92-96. Non-IIMs like FMS, SPJIMR, and MDI are usually 94-99. Cutoffs depend on exam difficulty, applicants, and seats, and often include sectional minimums.

CAT is one of the accepting exams for admission at Prin. N.G. Naralkar Institute of Career Development and Research. However, it is not compulsory to have a CAT score for a seat in the institute. Aspirants with a score in MAT, CMAT, XAT, ATMA or MAH MBA CET can also get admission through CAP Counselling rounds. Candidates must score equal or above the NICDR Pune cutoff for admission in the institute.

Provided that you meet the relevant CAT eligibility criteria and cut-off from the participating colleges in Andhra Pradesh, you should be able to secure a seat with CAT based criteria for MBA. There are IIM's (IIM Visakhapatnam), all kinds of private universities, etc., which are accepting CAT scores. AIMS Institutes admissions are conducted primarily on the basis of various prescribed entrance tests. These include CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA, and CMAT. Students may feel free to visit the institute website and check for any category or course-wise specialisation, if any. Candidates seeking admission to the MBA programme must be graduated with the bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST/ CAT-1).

Scoring less in CAT doesn't entirely close your chances of getting into IMT Hyderabad, but it does change the approach you need to take.

If your CAT score is low, consider taking CMAT or GMAT (CMAT is often considered slightly easier). A decent score in either of those can improve your chances significantly
