No you cannot simply do a Diploma in Environmental Law right after completing class 12th standard, unless you have completed a bachelor's degree in law. Since most Diploma programs in Environmental Law are PG level, so this implies that they only accept students who have completed high school education and possess a bachelor's degree qualification.

Pursuing a profession as a criminal lawyer right after Class 12th is only possible after candidates get admission to a bachelor's degree in law and then pursue an LLM degree in Criminal Law specialization. To become a lawyer, candidates need to take the bar exam. It is a state-level exam that must be passed before you can practice law in India. You must have finished an LLB program from an approved university to be able to take the bar exam. After passing the bar test, you can apply for criminal law jobs at government agencies, private law firms, and non-profit organizations.

Its not neccessary to take admission in class 12th again, its completely your choice. You can fill the NIOS improvement exam form for specific subjects or you can also fill CBSE improvement exam form if you have attended school in CBSE board. In this way your marks of the required subject will get updated without the need to take admission in Class 12th. Good luck for the improvement exams of 12th.
