Yes, you can take both the compartment and improvement exams in the same year of particular board of examination. However, you will need to meet the eligibility requirements for each tests independently. Compartment is permitted in just one topic, although improvement tests can be taken in two. The compartment examinations allow students to retake exams if they are pronounced failed without losing a session (same year). The improvement exam is for students who declared a pass but are dissatisfied with their results. As a result, several boards allow students to take a re-exam on a single subject without losing a session.

Students who failed one or two subjects in the CBSE board exams in 2024 will be obliged to retake the exams to save their academic year. The crucial point is that students who have failed three or more subjects are ineligible for the compartment exams. On June 7, 2024, the Central Board of Secondary Education announced the CBSE 10th and 12th compartment test dates in PDF format. The entire CBSE compartment exam timetable for Classes 10 and 12 is shown here. The CBSE board will administer the compartment exam 2024 for Class 12 on July 15, 2024, for all subjects.

No you cannot simply do a Diploma in Environmental Law right after completing class 12th standard, unless you have completed a bachelor's degree in law. Since most Diploma programs in Environmental Law are PG level, so this implies that they only accept students who have completed high school education and possess a bachelor's degree qualification.
