The minimum CDS cutoff is 20% for 2024 . The expected CDS cut off for 2024 are :
•IMA (Indian Military Academy)
Written : 120 – 130
Final : 245 – 255
• INA (Indian Naval Academy)
Written : 105-120
Final : 233-245
• AFA (Air Force Academy)
Written: 145-150
Final : 268-270
• OTA (Officers’ Training Academy) men
Written: 73-85
Final : 162-170
• OTA (Officers’ Training Academy) Women

The National Defence Academy and Indian Naval Academy Course offer admission to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings through the NDA exam. To choose qualified applicants for the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA), and Officers Training Academy (OTA), the CDS exam is administered. The syllabus for CDS and NDA differs. The NDA syllabus is divided into classes 10, 11, and 12. In contrast, the CDS syllabus adheres to graduation-level standards. AFCAT exam means Air Force Common Admission Test. This exam is taken to select candidates for admission in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches in Indian Air Force. AFCAT exam is conducted by Indian Air Force. CDS exam is conducted for candidates who wish to make their career in the Defence Forces- Army, Navy, and Air Force. Selected candidates undergo training at Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA). The selection process of CDS comprises written exam and SSB Interview. The Combined Defence Services (CDS) application form was released on the official website for CDS 2 on May 28, 2025. The last date to apply is June 20, 2025 (extended). The candidates can apply for the exam by following the steps given below:
- Go to the official website- upsconline.gov.in
- Login into the account on the OTR platform (The registration process for OTR has given above)
- Fill out the details that have been asked for part 2 registration
- Upload the photograph, signature and photo identity proof
- Make the application fees
- Choose the exam centre for the CDS 2 exam
- Finally, submit the application form
