CDS stands for Combined Defence Services exam. It is a national-level examination held annually to recruit eligible young individuals for various armed forces throughout India. This exam provides individuals with a great opportunity who dream of serving the nation by part of being in the armed forces.
UPSC CDS exam is conducted to select candidates in the following armed forces:

• Indian Army
• Indian Navy
• Indian Airforce
• Naval Academy
• Officers Training Academy
• CDS Examination syllabus comprises of three papers – General Knowledge, English, and Mathematics. Mathematics is not asked in the OTA Category. To clear any government examination, one should have complete knowledge about the Syllabus.
  
  Generally, 6 months current affairs is aked in exam . It is important to stay updated with current affairs and events by reading newspapers, magazines, and online news portals regularly. This will help you stay informed about the latest events and developments, and prepare well for the current affairs section of the CDS exam. Additionally, you can also refer to previous year question papers and mock tests to get an idea of the types of questions asked in the current affairs section of the exam.

Different instutes have different rules on the marital status for the CDS exam. The criteria for the marital status for various defence institutes have been given below for the candidates:

• For Indian Military Academy: Unmarried 
• For Indian Naval Academy: Unmarried 
• For Indian Air Force: Married and Unmarried

Note: The married candiddates must be equal to or above 25 years. However, during the training the candidates will not be provided with any married accommodation nor they can live out from the academy premises with the family.

• For  OTA Male: Umarried
• For OTA Female: Unmarried, Divorcees (in possession of divorce documents) and Widows who have not been remarried

Note: Male divorcee or widow will not be considered as unmarried for the purpose of admission in IMA/INA/AFA/OTA
