The number of CDS exam sample papers a candidate should solve depends on their level of preparation, time available, and level of confidence for the exam. However, a good rule of thumb is to solve at least 10 to 15 sample papers before the actual exam. Candidates should start solving the previous year's question papers and then move on to the latest sample papers available. The CDS General Awareness section comprises 120 question for 100 marks. The candidates need to solve all the questions as all question are compulsory. If the candidates leaves the question no marks will be awarded for it, however, if the candidates answer it wrong then the penalty of 1/3 marks will given against the wrong answer. The CDS General Awareness was moderate to difficult in terms of difficulty level for the CDS 1 2022 exam taken on April 16, 2023. However, the view on the difficulty level varies from candidate to candidate as per the preparation level of the candidates for the CDS General Awareness paper. The difficulty level of CDS 1 2022 exam was easy to moderate in terms of difficulty level. There were questions asked from the previous year's question paper.
