The pattern for the CEETA PG 2025 exam is divided into:
Type of Exam: The test is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) taken online.
Test Duration: The entire test time is 2 hours.
All questions will be of multiple choices.
The total marks in the test are 100.
The marking scheme for correct and wrong answers are:
For correct answer: +1.
For incorrect answer: -0.25.
There will be three sections in the paper,
Section 1: Mathematics of Engineering (20 Questions).
Section 2: Basic Engineering & Sciences, 35 Questions.
Part III: Discipline-specific topics (65 questions based on the selected area of specialization).

The Engineering Mathematics section in the CEETA PG comprises of 20 marks. Candidates appearing for the exam must be aware of the syllabus, which are as follows -
- Determinants and Matrices
- Calculus and Differential Equations
- Vector Calculus
- Functions of Complex Variables and Complex Integration
- Numerical Methods
- Transforms
- and Applied Probability

The CEETA PG exam question paper is divided into three parts: I, II, and III comprising questions from Engineering Mathematics, Basic Engineering and Sciences, and respective discipline-based. The section-wise distribution of questions is as follows -
- Section I (Engineering Mathematics) carries a total of 20 questions
- Section II (Basic Engineering and Sciences) carries a total of 20 questions, and
- Section III (Subject-related questions) carries a total of 60 questions.
Each question carries one mark, with a negative marking of 1/4 for every incorrect response.

The CEETA PG question paper comprises of a total of 115 objective-based questions, divided into three sections. Part I and Part II are common for all papers, whereas, Part-III section will carry subject-related questions. For each correct answer, one mark will be awarded. On the other hand, for an incorrect answer, a negative marking of 1/4 is deducted. However, there is no negative marking for the answers not attempted. Candidates will be provided OMR sheets to record their responses to the questions.
