NIOS Class 10th 2023: Exam Dates, Hall Ticket (OUT), Syllabus, Question Papers, Result

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) conducts NIOS Class 10^th examinations twice a year, in March-April and October/November. NIOS Class 10 exams are conducted for a total of three hours, from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm

The NIOS 10^th examinations are conducted in April for Block-I and in October for Block-II. 

NIOS gives the choice in the medium of instruction to the students at the secondary stage: Hindi, English, Urdu, Marathi, Telugu, Gujarati, Malayalam, Tamil, Odia, and Punjabi. The open school provides nine chances to the learners to appear in the public examinations over a period of five years to complete the course.

To apply for the Secondary courses at NIOS, a learner needs to meet the following criteria:

• Students should have cleared class 8^th and have valid proof of attaining 14 years of age can apply for registration to the Secondary Course.
• Age of the student should be minimum 14 years.
• A learner giving a self-certificate “I have studied enough to be able to pursue secondary course” is also eligible for admission to the Secondary Course.
• A learner who had studied at the secondary level elsewhere can also seek admission either to complete the course or improve performance.

NIOS 10^th Admission 

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) released the schedule for the NIOS 10th registration process and payment of exam fee for Oct/Nov 2023 public exams. Students can check the NIOS 10th application form page for more details. The NIOS 10th admissions take place twice a year, Block-I in April, while the Block-II admissions take place in October, every year. The dates usually remain the same every year. The NIOS Admissions for Class 10^th for Block-I commences on March 16, every year and concludes on September 15. The next admission cycle, which is for Block-II usually begins the following day i.e, September 16, and ends on March 15.

NIOS 10th Class Date Sheet 

NIOS had released the NIOS 10th Date Sheet 2023 for October-November exams cycle on August 30, 2023 on the official website. NIOS 10th exam 2023 will be conducted from October 3 to November 8, 2023. NIOS 10th Practical exam 2023 October will be held from September 16 to October 1, 2023. NIOS Class 10 exam April 2023 started on April 6 and ended on May 8, 2023. NIOS had published the NIOS 10^th datesheet for the practical exam March 2023. The practical exams were conducted from March 16 to 31, 2023. 

NIOS Class 10 Syllabus 

Students must go through the NIOS 10th Syllabus carefully and chalk out the study schedule accordingly. Students must keep in mind that the NIOS syllabus for Class 10th is the same for public and on-demand exams. It is mandatory for the students to appear in a minimum of 5 subjects. They can choose a maximum of 2 additional subjects along with the mandatory ones.

NIOS 10th Exam Pattern 

NIOS 10th exam includes subjects from Group A and Group B. The total exam duration is three hours, while for the subjects having practicals, it is 2.5 hours and 3 hours for theory and practicals, respectively. The maximum marks for each of the exams is 100. Students must check the complete NIOS 10th exam pattern to have a detailed view of the NIOS 10th exams 2020.

A learner is required to pass in a minimum of five subjects including one or a maximum of two languages from Group 'A' and other three or four subjects from Group 'B'. However, a learner has the advantage of taking up to two additional subjects and thus can choose a maximum of seven subjects at the secondary level.

While seeking admission in the Secondary course, a learner may opt for Vocational subjects also, including Typewriting (Hindi), Typewriting (English), Typewriting (Urdu), Carpentry, Solar Energy Technician, Bio Gas Technician, Laundry Services, Bakery & Confectionery, Welding Technology.

HIMACHAL PRADESH

  Conditions: Provided Secondary students have offered any four subjects out of English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science and Social Science and any one subject out of (a) Sanskrit/Urdu/Tamil/Telugu (b) one elective subject, and Senior Secondary Students have offered English plus three electives, to be chosen from one of the following; (a) Humanities; (b) Science; (c) Commerce.

NIOS 10th Sample Papers 2022

NIOS provides sample papers/previous years' question papers for the students to be able to get an insight into the type of questions asked. Students preparing for NIOS Class 10th examinations should take the help of the NIOS 10th sample question papers and practise them while preparing for the exams.

NIOS will release NIOS 10th result 2023 October in January 2024. NIOS declared the NIOS 10th result April/May 2023 exam on June 25, 2023. All the candidates who appeared for the examinations must visit the official website of NIOS to check their results by using their respective enrolment numbers. The NIOS Class 10 result 2022 for October/November exam was out on January 20, 2023.

NIOS Class 10 Toppers

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has not released the list of Class 10 toppers yet.

NIOS 10th Improvement Exam 

NIOS provides a second-chance to the students who want to improve their performance by giving the NIOS 10th Improvement exams. A student can appear for compartment exam only once during the admission period (5 years).

A minimum of 33% marks (separately in theory and Practicals in subjects having both and also in aggregate) in the public examination is required by the students to be declared pass in the NIOS Class 10 examinations.

NIOS 10th Admit Card 2023

NIOS released the NIOS admit card class 10 2023 for practical exam Sept/Oct on the official website. NIOS had released the NIOS 10th Admit Card for Class 10th theory exam April/May 2023. All the students appearing for the NIOS 10th examinations must visit the official website of NIOS to download the NIOS hall ticket.
